‘Love Story’ closing collection: Naga Chaitanya-starrer hits the jackpot

The latest film by actor Naga Chaitanya Love story ended its box office run with a worldwide share of Rs 34.51 crore and became a commercial success. He had to collect around Rs 32 crore to break even, which he managed to do with relative ease. The film opened with a good response on September 24, raising nearly Rs 10 crore on day one.

The positive response to the film has helped the Telugu film industry regain its mojo after the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. He received favorable reviews which helped him stay strong on weekdays. He remained the target audience’s choice in week 2 despite competition from the big Hollywoodian No time to die.

Love story, directed by Sekhar Kammula, is a romantic drama that revolves around the difficulties faced by a young couple during their relationship. It introduces Sai Pallavi, who rose to fame with his work in the movie Malayalam Premaman and the Telugu movie Fidaa, as the protagonist and marks his first collaboration with Chay. His performance is considered one of the film’s greatest moments. He has an impressive cast which included Rajeev Kanakala, Devayani, Uttej, and Easwari Rao.

With Love story, Chay scored three consecutive successes as his last two films– Majili and Venky mom– performed well at the box office. Star set to foray into Bollywood with Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, which is slated to hit screens next year. He will also be seen in the Telugu movie Thank youyou and Bangarraju, a sequel to the popular film Soggade Chinni Nayana.

Sai Pallavi, on the other hand, awaits the release of Virata Parvam, with Rana Daggubati. She will be seen opposite ‘Natural Star’ Nani in the highly anticipated Shyama Singha Roy. He, unlike the Eega the hero’s previous films V and Tuck Jagadish, will be released in ‘theaters only’.
