Tribute to Neil Diamond by Matt Vee

Celebrate the music of Neil Diamond performed by Matt Vee, his family and friends with his performance “I Am… He Said” at 7 pm on January 21 at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts on the campus of Brainerd High School.

With songs like “Cracklin ‘Rosie”, “Song Sung Blue” and “Sweet Caroline”, Diamond has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

This nostalgic celebration stars Vee, nephew of late 1960s pop star and teen idol, Bobby Vee.

Amanda Standalone with special guests Dave Virnala and Michael Strike

Amanda Standalone is a folk musician and writer from Minnesota. His music is a moving blend of acoustic folk / blues heavily influenced by American roots music. She is currently recording her third album, a concept album based on real-life paranormal stories.

Dave Virnala started playing guitar at the age of 8. His influences include John Prine and Guy Clark. Virnala has performed at every Longest Night Music Festival at the New York Mills Cultural Center.

Standalone, Virnala and fellow special guest Michael Strike will perform at 7:30 p.m. on October 20 at the New York Mills Cultural Center, 24 N. Main Ave, New York Mills. Tickets cost $ 10 for adults and $ 5 for students and can be paid for at the door. For more information, call 218-385-2436.

Brainerd Community Theater

The Brainerd Community Theater presents a classic thriller “Wait Until Dark” on the John Chalberg Stage at Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Performances take place October 28-30 at 7 p.m.

Tickets cost $ 15 for adults, $ 12 for seniors, and $ 10 for CLC students and those under 18. Tickets for the play are available at the CLC Theater box office at 218-855-8199, or one hour before each performance. They are also available online at clcperformingarts.com.
