‘RRR’ box office race: Rajamouli-directorial ends with Rs. 1,000cr+ collection

The masterful work of SS Rajamouli RRR has completed its theatrical tour.
After its March 25 release, the film earned a whopping Rs. 902cr in India and Rs. 1,111cr at the global box office.
On the day of its opening, RRR had made a record Rs. 132.30cr and followed up the feat by fetching Rs. 341.20cr in its opening weekend in the country.
Why is this story important?
- The film has some of the most talented actors in the industry.
- While Ram Charan and Jr. NTR played lead roles, Alia Bhatt played a vital supporting role.
- RRR was reportedly made with a huge budget of Rs. 450-500 cr.

‘RRR’ beat the likes of ‘The Batman’, ‘Baahubali 2’
RRRThe global opening day collection was Rs. 467cr and it turned out to take the top spot in the global box office charts in its opening weekend, beating the Hollywood biggie The Batman.
The historical period drama also proved to be the highest grossing film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with Rs. 395cr in Telugu states, beating Baahubali: the conclusion.
Netflix and ZEE5 are players in the streaming period
RRR is a fictional story based on real-life freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju.
While Jr. NTR played Bheem, Charan played Sitarama Raju.
The film is streaming on Netflix and ZEE5 and has gained record viewership.
On Netflix, RRR reportedly recorded 44 million hours of views, while it has more than 16 million hours of views on ZEE5.
DC, Marvel Writers Also Praised ‘RRR’
In separate news, RRR not only impressed fans, but also received the nod from global celebrities.
Jackson Lanzing, who wrote DC’s batman beyond and Marvel Comics’ Captain Americadeclared himself a fan of the film, calling it “the best time he’s ever had at the movies”.
