See the arts center offers summer internships

OLD FORGE – View, the center for arts and culture, has opened the application process for its 2022 summer internship program.

View offers full-time summer art internship opportunities in the following areas: Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Community Arts, Ceramics and Pottery, Community and Special Events, and Marketing and Media. The deadline for submitting applications is March 31, 2022.

View offers a summer internship program for college students or recent graduates interested in learning about the inner workings of a nonprofit arts center from June through August.

“An internship at View is a great opportunity for students to work directly in the program of their choice to acquire skills, gain valuable experience, and facilitate professional network connections that will stand out on a resume for employment,” officials noted.

Qualified trainees may also have the opportunity to lead workshops. Summer interns work in View’s state-of-the-art green building and experience the summer in a beautiful location, enjoying panoramic outdoor views with trails, lakes, mountains and wildlife.

View trainees are assigned to the program of their choice based on availability. However, interns may assist in more than one program depending on interest, experience, and resource requirements.

Summer interns are also assigned a variety of duties which include, but are not limited to, communicating with members of our project management team and visitors, setting up and taking down the exhibit, assists in the planning and execution of events and fundraisers, the preparation and distribution of promotional material and administrative tasks. functions. Trainees must work 40 hours per week. Some nights and weekends are required.

Interns receive a monetary stipend every two weeks and college credits can also be arranged. Interns are provided with shared accommodation (transport to and from accommodation may be required). Interns can attend workshops, events and shows free of charge, subject to availability.
