Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film a negative review. She only gave the film one out of five stars and wrote, âBy the time the twist – indeed, yes, there is a twist – happens, it’s too late. At that point, we are buried under the Love Trail, the Best Friend (Sumit Gulati) Trail, and the Action Trail. The two people who get the most out of this shelved ‘Tadap’ are, no, not the lovebirds, but the two dads, Mishra and Shukla.
She added, âMeanwhile, we end up with lines like: ‘jawaani mein FD kara lo, budhaape mein kaam ayegi’. Or words to that effect.
